Second-hand stress related to asthma and autoimmune disorders

My friend was complaining to me about her child's prolonged cough, however she noted that when she is vacationing in a nice cold skiing resort, the cough disappears.  In fact, many times parents relate that at work they are the CEO or CFO, overseeing many workers and projects, but when they open the front door of their homes, their heart palpitations elevated and they break out in cold sweat.  Parents and children having anxiety at home is very common today.

Sanctifying your household should be the top priority of any parent or leader, preferably the father.  I don't mean calling in the medium or bomoh.
Sanctify:
To set apart as holy, free from sin, purify, vindicate, unburden, ...

The generic meaning of sanctification is "the state of proper functioning."

To sanctify someone or something is to set that person or thing apart for the use intended by its designer.

A pen is "sanctified" when used to write.
Eyeglasses are "sanctified" when used to improve sight.

In the theological sense, things are sanctified when they are used for the purpose God intends. A human being is sanctified, therefore, when he or she lives according to God's design and purpose.

SANCTIFY YOUR HOUSE

When two parents take up their responsibility to set the tone in their house, there will be security, joy, hope, faith and love in the household.
Parents set the borders and guidelines, have open communication, and their children respect the borders.  However, when parents are venting out in anger and frustration, hurling emotional and verbal abuses, using hostile body language and conditional threats, in their own homes.  There is no purity in the home.  We are all familiar with the shouty moms and the Santa Claus dads, where the head of the family is the matriarch and the father takes a passive spectator role instead.  An angry abusive dad and a passive mom is equally bad.
Picture
Research has found that depression in a spouse frequently leads to depression in the partner. The same holds true for roommates. In addition, children raised by depressed parents are significantly more likely to be diagnosed with depression. In fact, one family members' depression can bring down an entire family system. Other emotions, such as anxiety and fear, can have the same effect.

Watch this funny take on stress at home:

Even in the workplace when the CEO allows lies and manipulation to breed, eventually produce tension and suspicion. Often these creep up without you being conscious of it - it can start with one employee exhibiting some self-pity, a gossip, etc.

THE UGLY

At this point, you may be thinking, if that's the bad, what's the ugly. The ugly is the consequences. Just as second-hand smoke can have the same or worse effects on the health of nonsmokers, second-hand emotions (if they're the negative kind just described) can have significant, long-lasting effects on the health and well being of those experiencing them. The negativity keeps pounding away at you and ultimately results in significant second-hand stress, which as you might expect, has the same effects on your mind and body as direct stress. The body experiences and interprets it as one in the same.

Caroline Whang, writing for Ladies Home Journal, notes that workers who deal with trauma victims on a regular basis often experience serious physical and emotional symptoms such as muscle tension, fatigue, low energy, insomnia, and depression. She also describes a study of infants out of the National Jewish Medical and Research Center at the University of Colorado that discovered that children whose parents are experiencing significant strain are more likely to develop asthma and autoantibodies that increase their risk for diabetes. Other medical problems, such as heart disease, have also been linked to second-hand stress.

Why Your Health May Suffer from Empathic Stress

If you're often around stressed-out people, or you choose to watch stressful programming on TV, your health could suffer (see Science Says Stress Is Contagious).
  • Decreased nutrient absorption
  • Elevated cholesterol
  • Increased food sensitivity
  • Decreased oxygenation to your gut
  • Elevated triglycerides
  • Heartburn
  • As much as four times less blood flow to your digestive system, which leads to decreased metabolism
  • Decreased gut flora populations
  • Decreased enzymatic output in your gut – as much as 20,000-fold!

A dysfunctional family possesses draining atmosphere that sucks up all the positive energy and replaces it with anxiety, fear, unhappiness, and chaos.  Women are generally more vulnerable to absorbing Emotional Contagion (EC) from others - both positive and negative emotions (see Doherty, et al., Emotional Contagion: Gender and Occupational Differences).

Happiness is contagious too. People who are surrounded by many happy people are more likely to become happy in the future.  Positive thoughts will improve your immune system, decrease pain and chronic disease.

9 Emotional Pains pregnant women pass on to unborn child

I read with excitement this piece by Dr. Mercola how emotional pains are passed on to their unborn child.  Many of my clients suffering from physical pain or disorders today can be traced back to the prenatal emotional state of their mothers.

Emotional pains can be transferred:
  • in the womb during pregnancy, or
  • inherited from your ancestors
By Dr. Mercola

Emotional trauma would seem, at face value, to be a highly individual experience, impacting primarily the person going through the ordeal. However, emotional trauma, fears, and phobias also impact people with close ties to the victim, including their children… even if the trauma happened years before they are born.

So-called hereditary trauma can be passed down from generation to generation, such that children may suffer from the same behavioral issues, fears, and phobias as their parents. A new study in rats took this knowledge a step further, shedding light on one way that a mother’s fears or past traumas may impact her children.

Mother’s Fears Passed to Children Via Scent

During the study, female rats were conditioned to fear the smell of peppermint before they were pregnant. Later, the rats’ pups were exposed to the peppermint scent along with a scent of their mother’s reacting to the peppermint odor.

The newborn pups learned to fear the smell even when their mothers weren’t there, after just a single exposure.1 However, when activity was blocked in the pups’ amygdala, a region of the brain that processes emotions, including fear responses, the pups did not learn to fear the peppermint scent.

So it seems that, via scent, “infants can learn from their mothers about potential environmental threats before their sensory and motor development allows them a comprehensive exploration of the surrounding environment.”2 The impact of scent on fear was so strong that some of the rats tried to plug the tubing to stop the scent from coming in, a habit that the researchers plan to study further.

In another study by University of Zurich found microRNAs altered after traumatic stress.
Science Daily reported:11

“After traumatic experiences, the mice behaved markedly differently: they partly lost their natural aversion to open spaces and bright light and had depressive-like behaviours. These behavioural symptoms were also transferred to the next generation via sperm, even though the offspring were not exposed to any traumatic stress themselves.”

It wasn’t only their behavior that was altered, either. The traumatized mice had offspring with altered metabolisms, including lower insulin and blood sugar levels. The study shows that an imbalance in microRNAs in sperm, brought on by trauma, is one way in which emotional trauma is passed down through generations, a factor the researchers said is likely “part of a chain of events that begins with the body producing too much stress hormones.”12

5 Top Emotional Pains You are Transferring to your Unborn Child

  1. Discouragement - caused a block in the foetus at one month prenatal (in the womb) due to the extreme poverty the pregnant mother was facing.  This was causing the patient (the child) sleep apnea in her 50s.
  2. Resentment block occurred at 8 month into the pregnancy.  This caused the child to have poor teeth health.
  3. When the pregnant mother felt Insecurity (a form of worry) at 7 months pregnancy, it was lodged in the heart of the child.  Subsequently the child was facing a cycle of suffering financial losses in her 40s.
  4. The young child has severe food allergies.  I detected during the third month of pregnancy, the mother felt intense Longing for some food which got blocked in the unborn child's stomach.
  5. If you are suffering from sinusitis or stuffy nose, it could be traced back to Low Self-Esteem blocked in your spleen during 8 month prenatal.  Your mother had or felt low self-esteem and this was transferred to the unborn child.

Hypertension can be due to the mother feeling Disgust during the second trimester, and the child is facing symptoms of hypertension in his/her 50s.

If you or your family or friends are facing symptoms such as hyperactivity, short attention span, suffering relationship breakups, diabetes or hypertension, please contact me for immediate removal.

Top Recommendations for Emotional Healing

Let Go of Emotional Pains
Using Qi Healing or energy psychology, the sooner you identify and remove emotional pains, the better off your mental health will be.  For instance, Rejection actually activates your brain to create physical pain.  Even replaying past hurts and past stressful memories can also increase your levels of C-reactive protein, a marker of inflammation in your body.20
Even if this falls outside of your beliefs, Qi healing is very effective and a scientific universal law such as the law of gravity (it applies to a God-fearing man as well as an atheist)

Turn Failure Into Something Positive
Focus on making another person happy or help someone else.  This is a powerful story of a MS sufferer eliminating her pains with giving:

Aromatherapy

The inhaled aroma from these "essential" oils is widely believed to stimulate brain function. Essential oils can also be absorbed through the skin, where they travel through the bloodstream and can promote whole-body healing. It is used for a variety of applications, including pain relief, mood enhancement and increased cognitive function.

Use Self-Affirmations to increase your Self-Esteem
The most important ingredient for success is self-esteem.  Notice that successful people in any walk of life have a very high self esteem. They think very highly about themselves.  They use positive self-esteem affirmations.

Unsuccessful people generally have a very low self worth. It's a simple rule. If you don't love yourself, nobody will.  Psychologists say that it takes at least SEVEN positivisms to cancel out ONE negativism. The constant criticism of a child results in damaged self-worth.  To reinforce positive beliefs, say to yourself, "I radiate love and respect and in return I get love and respect".  However if this is not your personal belief that it may not be effective.

Emotional Freedom Technique
Dr. Mercola highly recommends EFT:
"EFT is a form of psychological acupressure based on the same energy meridians used in traditional acupuncture to treat physical and emotional ailments for over 5,000 years, but without the invasiveness of needles. Instead, simple tapping with the fingertips is used to transfer kinetic energy onto specific meridians on your head and chest while you think about your specific problem -- whether it is a traumatic event, an addiction, pain, anxiety, etc. -- and voice positive affirmations.

This combination of tapping the energy meridians and voicing positive affirmation works to clear the "short-circuit"—the emotional block—from your body's bioenergy system, thus restoring your mind and body's balance, which is essential for optimal health and the healing of physical disease. The beauty about EFT is that it can reprogram your body’s reactions to the unavoidable stressors of everyday life, thereby providing a more lasting effect. More than any traditional or alternative method I have used or researched, EFT has the most potential to literally work magic"

Optimum nutrition and healthy lifestyle
Much has been researched and reported on having:
  1. Healthy and natural food, ensuring your body receives optimum nutrition; and keep away from processed food,
  2. Proper sleep provides ample time for your body to restore and repair damaged cells and the process of detoxification, and
  3. H.I.I.T exercises works out more muscle groups and is a combination of intensity, resistance and cardio - It is also easier to stick to 10 mins a day than the 1-2 hour jogs or aerobics.  Do it during TV commercial breaks :-)
